After 3 rides I am enjoying the Bontrager Chupacabra 29×3 tire on the front of my Salsa El Mariachi very much. I am faster, according to Strava, than I was with a 2.4 Ardent front that weighed less. Seems to me that unweighting the rear (29×2.3) by getting out of the saddle makes for a more comfortable and faster ride on ascents, flats, and descents. Air pressure will undoubtedly be experimented with further in an attempt to more appropriately match the anticipated applications of each ride.
