If you’ve ridden much with me over the years, you’ll know that I often will call out the name of a bird while we are riding. More often than not, it isn’t a visual spotting of a bird, but a sound that I have heard which helps me identify which birds are in the area.
I am always trying to learn more about the flora and fauna that make up the awesome landscapes I know and love in the beautiful places where I ride bicycles.
Below is a tool to help you learn some of the bird sounds you may hear along a trail near you. Many aren’t common in my area and some are even pet birds, so take a little time to learn what birds might be in your area. It has really helped me appreciate the places I ride more than it did when the sounds were just background noise. Enjoy!
