B+ Full Suspension from Salsa Cycles

Coming soon to a QBP distributor near you could be this 650b+ Full Suspension adventure bike from Salsa Cycles.

Debuted at Sea Otter a few days ago, it is sporting the new 27.5×3.0 tire from WTB named Bridger on the front wheel.

The wheels shown bear the WTB Scraper 45mm wide rims to carry this new Bridger 3.0 on the front as well as the Trailblazer 27.5×2.8 on the rear. Using the DW Split Pivot suspension design, this 27plus prototype has 120mm of travel front and rear. It is also using the Boost hub spacing front and rear which was developed by Trek in 2014.
Specialized is also using this hub spacing on their B-plus bike unveiled during the Sea Otter Classic as well. It seems that there is some consistency welling up within the bicycle industry around this axle standard possibly. Maybe that’s just a coincidence and wishful thinking. Regardless, plus sized bikes are on the rise. I hear that the San Diego based Haro Bikes also has a plus sized bike in the works. More on that to come…
